Music has entirely changed in the past ten to fifteen years. It's changed even more in the past thirty years. My parents tell me how they remember those days. The Beatles were the greatest thing in the world, and other good bands included the Rolling Stones, the Wonders, etc. This was the time Elvis Presley was considered the "The King of Rock" and I was a big fan. Amazing bands of this era later included the Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Boston, AC/DC, Free, Cream, and many more.
Nowadays, the most popular hits include pop, rap, and other stuff. Bands that get high popularity are now The Jonas Brothers, Fall Out Boy, and other poser bands. I wish I could go back to the past and watch old bands perform. It would have been amazing to see Nirvana live, for example, even though they aren't that old. Now, I can't listen to anything on the radio because it's not good in my opinion. What happened?

I agree with you on that one. The music now is not good, specially the garbage people call rap. Before it actually took skills to make music, you needed to be a good guitar player or drummer, but now rap "artists" just press buttons on machines to make beats and talk about drugs, and they have the next hit that everyone will be talking about. However, in the last decade and even now there are still good bands and artists who make good music, like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, John Mayer, and others...
ReplyDeleteThis is one thing I have been trying to figure out for awhile now. I could never learn what happened between 1990 and 2007 to good music. This is why I listen to only the classics such as Less Than Jake and The Beatles. Sure, some upcoming bands such as Attack Attack! and Devil Wears Prada are making good music, but the mainstream is just terrible pop. I remember a time when grunge used to rule the radio. Now it's just a snorefest.
